Find your area

Four areas have their own page, with routes, nearby schools and the 11+ options for children who live there. Every distance on this page is in road miles from our centre, and drive times always depend on traffic.

Maidenhead families

About 3.9 road miles from Maidenhead town centre, or roughly 10 minutes by car via the A4 and Maidenhead Bridge.

That puts Maidenhead outside the 3-mile circle around our centre. The Royal Borough has no state grammar schools, so families who want a grammar place register their child for the Bucks or Slough 11+.

11+ guide for this area11+ for Maidenhead families

Cippenham, Britwell and Haymill

Haymill is about 1.2 road miles away, Britwell 1.8 and Cippenham 2.3, so most journeys take between 4 and 6 minutes.

All three neighbourhoods are part of Slough borough, and their children can sit the Slough Consortium test, the Bucks test or both.

Taplow, Hitcham and Dorney

Hitcham is about 0.75 road miles from us, Dorney 2.5 and Taplow 2.7, which works out at 3 to 7 minutes by car.

These villages are in Buckinghamshire, so children at their state primaries sit the Bucks 11+ unless their parents opt out.

Slough families

Slough town centre is about 3.5 road miles from our door, roughly 10 minutes by car along the A4 and Burnham Lane.

Like Maidenhead, it's beyond our 3-mile circle, and we'd rather say so than blur it. Slough's four grammar schools set one shared entrance test.

Nearer villages

Burnham is our home village, and our homepage is the best place to start if you live here. Lent Rise and Hitcham are both part of Burnham, and Hitcham also features on the Taplow and Dorney page. Farnham Royal lies to the east, on the Buckinghamshire side of the boundary.

In all four villages, pupils at Bucks state primaries are put forward for the Bucks test as a matter of course. Any family, wherever it lives, may also register for the Slough test.
